Testimony
2017, 2018, 2019

In a series of closed, public-participatory performances, guests were invited to locate intensely contested events within their bodies. Utilizing the shifting perspectives embedded in testimony, news reports, and memory as a backdrop, participants translated their experiences into performative gestures. Embodying the texts while wearing blindfolds, participants enacted different identities, elusively tying each person in the room to one another.

Ultimately, participants are called to discover themselves within these new identities in search not only for a personal truth at the heart of these events, but a collective truth in regards to our inability to clearly see our inherent interconnectivity.”
